What does GVWR and GAWR mean, and why is it important?
- GVWR: (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) is the maximum total weight your trailer
can safely carry—including the trailer itself, cargo, fluids, and equipment. - GAWR: (Gross Axle Weight Rating) refers to the maximum weight that each individual axle is rated to carry.
- Understanding both GVWR and GAWR helps ensure your trailer is safe, legal, and capable of handling the loads you plan to haul.
- At Summit Cargo, our team is happy to guide you through the options and help match you with a trailer that meets your weight capacity requirements.
- You can also refer to the table below in our FAQ Gallery for more info!
